Too bad his "Never Goin' Back," which the Lovin' Spoonful recorded, refers specifically to Nashville. Maybe you could write quick 2024 replacement lyrics.
1968 was a year of anti-war songs. I tend to think of the anti-Vietnam war songs and have long wondered where, in this strange and split personality America, are the great protest songs? There have been a few songs written but so far most have not risen to the level it seems the times ought to inspire. I have been waiting, but apparently something is still missing...
I was waiting for the LAST CAMPAIGN CD to arrive and today it did. Just added the cover image.
Thanks for sharing…
I am always looking to expand my eclectic playlist.

Ooh, I'm gonna think about that . . .

Country Joe, where are you now that we need you—again.
"One, two, three, what are we voting for? . . ."
Write one.
Not a songwriter, but now that I'm once again trying to learn guitar 101 and getting back to singing, maybe I will be inspired. <g>
Let me know how you get on. I am cr@p at the guitar, but I'm gonna write one anyway. I'm thinking the opening verse might go something like -
' Oh my god I'm going to dig a clod, & bury myself , ' coz I'd rather be an elf.
If the wind don't change, am gonna go deranged , & am writing this song for my mental health. '
Probably Gmaj / Cmaj & Dmaj.
